ROSEAU, Dominica – Multiple sources tell Caribbean News Global (CNG) that the Dominica International Airport project and the Government of Dominica are back in court, facing renewed arbitration and injunctions as of this Friday, June 12, 2026.
“Legal documents have been filed in the appropriate jurisdiction,” according to sources familiar with the matter, but not authorised to speak publicly.
On May 22, 2026, Montreal Management Consultants Development (MMCD) advised, “no legal proceedings or arbitrations are CURRENTLY in effect against the Government of Dominica.”
“The on-again, off-again legal proceedings have perhaps become a legal shield to previously undisclosed, agreed-upon, signed agreements and contract amendments that are presumable, yet to be fulfilled to mutual satisfaction,” sources say.
Questions continue to surround WHY the Dominica International Airport project (Government of Dominica) and MMCD are at an impasse that may involve breach of contract, nonpayment, linked to financing agreements.
“Progress continues at the Dominica International Airport, with steady advancements on key ancillary facilities, including the electrical substation (ESUB), fuel farms, special parking shed, and waste disposal area—essential infrastructure supporting the airport’s future operations,” says the Dominica International Airport, Facebook page.
MMCD recently affirmed that the Dominica International Airport – a project that stands as a cornerstone of Dominica’s national development and a testament to the enduring partnership between MMCD and the Government of Dominica.

Faith and redress have apparently reached a point of accompanying redress between the Government of Dominica and MMCD that requires substantive action.
Dominica’s Citizenship by Investment Program is the funding source for the Dominica International Airport project, estimated at XCD $1.4 billion.
China Railway No.5 Engineering Group Co., Ltd., “CR5”, is the general contractor for the Dominica International Airport project.

Before this second round of proposed legal proceedings, MMCD said that it is fully committed to seeing the Dominica International Airport through to completion, scheduled for 2027.
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has reported continued progress on the construction of the International Airport – on Wednesday, said, “works are advancing satisfactorily across multiple components of the project, with major milestones being achieved in earthworks, runway construction and supporting infrastructure,” And emphasised that all operations are being conducted in accordance with established guidelines. ~ OPM
In the light of increased scrutiny, alleged renegade and/or stalled execution of contractual obligations, CNG has submitted a request for comment from MMC’s officials in Dominica.
